Hello! I'm Jean! I've been teaching workshops, conferences, and seminars since 2011. I am passionate about continuing education and believe shared knowledge makes a better community and industry of skilled professionals. While I no longer teach my personal in-person workshops, I am currently working hard on some awesome online education. What do you want to learn? Help a girl out and click here to give your opinion!
"Learning and innovation go hand in hand. The arrogance of success is to think that what you did yesterday will be sufficient for tomorrow."
- William Pollard
When I first started photography, I continually searched for knowledge and education from photographers I respected and admired. As the years have gone by, the desire for continuing education has only increased and I love seeing the changes and improvements in myself as a photographer and small business owner. I have been learning, shooting, and teaching for 14 years and I love working with like minded people to share knowledge and experience. If you are interested in a mentoring session with me, please reach out for availability and any questions you may have. Your mentoring session will be completely catered to your needs and concerns. Here's to growth, my friends!
I love natural light. LET ME REPEAT, I AM A NATURAL LIGHT PHOTOGRAPHER. But somewhere around 2009, I learned that artificial light not only allowed me to shoot in situations and locations where natural light was poor or not available, but it OPENED MY WORLD to creative possibilities I wasn't able to achieve with natural light. Trust me, I am a minimalist and am not technical, so if I can learn and use this stuff, so can you. Join my husband and me for our online artificial lighting webinar where we break down and simplify flash. This webinar includes:
Three core lighting webinars
Three recorded Q&A videos
Five videos covering specific genres (family, newborn, high school senior, wedding, and headshots)
Morning coffee and reading the newspaper together, the cool fall breeze blowing through the window as you pour another cup. Black denim and leather boots, the deepest crimson flannel. Rose gold and velvet. Rich and lush. Chatting with locals while we sip our coffee and head out for the next adventure.
Sipping chartreuse and green tea while looking at the most perfect white subway tile and hand painted signs. Driving through the mountains to Portland reminiscing about the best memories back home. Cozy sweaters, vintage denim, and Pabst while telling one of a kind love stories.
People used to sign up for a workshop, show up for a full day of learning, and go home with a brain full of knowledge and renewed passion. Nowadays, people want EXPERIENCES. But people also want to learn from home in their PAJAMAS. Thankfully, I'm passionate about both of those things. My brain is on fire with creating and developing future online education AND in-person experiences. If you would like to kept up to date on future photo/travel related retreats as well as online education, join the list below! Cheers to shared knowledge and experiences!
